Dear Deviant Artists!

I've been looking for some good websites with photography as focus lately. I have unfortunately had little luck. I’m looking for a site that gives you a chance to share your pictures with the world, not just with your friends or the ones you invite to see them. I'm not interested in a sort of storage for all you photos that you can link with facebook or something like that. I'm not interested in a stock site where you sell your photos.

I'm interested in a site where you easily can share your photos, and they appear on some sort of a "recent photos" so everyone could see them.

I want to be able to tag my pictures and I want my visitors to be able to like my pictures and to follow me. Some sort of group function would be appreciated where you can upload your photos as well.

So far the only one's I use is DA and Flickr. I've tried some other sites like Ipernity but I don't really get them and also there seems to be much fewer people registered on those sites, which gives me little if not no success in spreading my work.

Now my question is do YOU know any awesome websites that fulfills my expectations and requirements? I would be more than glad to hear about it!

Much love,

Linn

I need help!!

2 min read
Ok, so I just discovered a major problem. When looking at my pictures from other computers than mine the black are not completely black. You can even see where I've edited and tried to darken parts up in Photoshop. On my computer It looks perfect so to say and I can see no greyer parts of the areas that are supposed to be black. I've tried to change the brightness and contrast of my computer screen and I've also tried to change the color setting on Phothoshop (I use the old CS5). Nothing works. My sister said it became better when I looked up how to paint with "rich black" in PS. Which is where you blend in a little of Cyan, Magenta and Yellow into the black. But she could still see some grey tones in the black, even though it got better.

My question now is do you all see my pics as horribly Photoshoped? are the black areas black or do you se "color changes"?

If so, this is horrible, awkward and I feel like I just want to dig my own grave. Pretty much.
(and if so, why on earth haven't you told me!?)

Are there any computer/Photoshop genius out there who would care to help a young amateur such as myself!?

Best regards,
Linn

Almost all pictures I post here are portraits. But people is really not the only thing I take photographs of. I've tried posting other kinds of pictures on my Facebook-page, but they did not get half as much attention or feedback. So I just stopped posting them. Portraits are ofcourse my favorit thing to shoot, and I also enjoy watching other portraits above pictures of other things, like nature and macro. But I still take that kind of photos, and I'm not bad at it.

I don't know, mabye pictures of the nature where I live and my surrounding are booring to watch? Not half as interesting? Has portraits become my nisch, so people would feel weird if I posted something else?

What do you think? Should I stick to portraits on Deviant or would you enjoy watching pictures of other things aswell?

Much Love,
Linn
